Lahore: The Lahore High Court (LHC) has instructed the relevant authorities to remove encroachments in front of shops within 24 hours, a news source reported. The court was hearing a petition on the removal of encroachments and restoration of historical buildings on Mall Road.
The petitioner had contended that it has become difficult to walk on Mall Road because of the presence of encroachments and petitioned that they be removed from footpaths. Justice Ali Akbar Qureshi instructed Lord Mayor Lahore to remove the encroachments and present a report. He also issued instructions that people who establish their encroachments again should be acted against under anti-terrorism laws.
