Islamabad: The relocation of the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)’s Head Office from Karachi to Islamabad is currently in progress, a news source reported. As per the publication, the national flag carrier has also sent its framework plan to Prime Minister Imran Khan for approval.

Sources from the Aviation division stated that PIA was moving its head office from Karachi to the Benazir Bhutto International Airport in the capital city, adding that the terminal building of the airport would house its head office.
On the other hand, sources revealed that that the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will use the airport’s car parking area for commercial purposes. They added that the officials concerned have finalised the details of the relocation process.

Officials from the Aviation division said that the airline was moving several of its departments to the new location – including the Procedure Bureau, Marketing Department, Revenue Management, Central Reservation Control, Human Resources and the Security and Vigilance Department.. However, the situation room, finance, and engineering departments would remain in Karachi.
