Sialkot: Officials working at the Sialkot Municipal Corporation and Sialkot District Council have been asked to relocate their offices currently operating within the dilapidated building of the historical Sialkot Fort, a news source reported. Sialkot Deputy Commissioner, Dr Syed Bilal Haider, issued the orders in this regard.
During his visit to the offices, Dr Haider directed the authorities concerned to establish a new complex on an immediate basis – in an alternative location. He reasoned that the fort complex was in shambles, and could collapse at any time.
The structures had already been declared dangerous by the Sialkot buildings department, which has stated that it is extremely risky to occupy such buildings. The body had also advised the Sialkot Municipal Corporation and Sialkot District Council to evacuate the place as soon as possible.
