Islamabad: Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Abdul Razak Dawood on Wednesday announced that a relief package is being prepared for the textile industry — a news source reported. He added that the package would help in reviving the sector as the demand for textile had risen in the wake of the country’s lockdown restrictions.

Mr Dawood revealed this information while speaking to Radio Pakistan. He further stated that the government would be passing on the benefits of the recent decline in oil prices in the international market to the country’s citizens.
Detailing the various schemes introduced by the current government, he said that under the Ehsaas Programme the government had earmarked an amount worth PKR 144 billion for the poor. He said that the government would also pay three-month electricity bills for the small and medium enterprises.

Additionally, the advisor to the PM revealed that the government would also be introducing some new programmes aimed at supporting the workers in the informal sector in a few days.
