Islamabad: Work on the rehabilitation and carpeting of Seventh Avenue has been started off, reported a news source. The project is being carried out and monitored by the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI)’s Machinery Poll Organisation Directorate (MPOD).
Briefing Islamabad Mayor Sheikh Anser Aziz on the project, MPOD Director Umer Saghir said that the dilapidated parts of the roads are being recarpeted, and work on both side of the roads will finish in 10 days. Seventh Avenue is among the busiest roads in the capital and due to the existing traffic load, project completion on time while ensuring safety measures is deemed important.
Aziz appreciated the efforts of MPOD, which has repaired and carpeted many lanes and highways measuring 206 kilometres in length during 2017-18 with its own machinery and resources. By doing so, the directorate has helped save revenue work PKR 331 million.
