Mansehra: Mansehra Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Qasim Ali Khan has revealed that the National Highway Authority has a plan in the works to rehabilitate the Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road that links Khyber Pakhtunkhwa with Gilgit Baltistan, a news source reported on August 18. He shared this information while speaking to the media.

The DC also mentioned that the district administration has paid compensation of PKR 2.03 billion to the landowners whose land has been acquired for the Suki Kinari Hydropower Project in Kaghan Valley.
Dr Khan stated that he told the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on planning and development in a meeting that a total payment of PKR 3.7 billion has to be paid in compensation for the land acquisition for the Suki Kinari hydropower project, and so far PKR 2.03 billion has been paid. This standing committee meeting was chaired by Member National Assembly (MNA) Junaid Akbar and was attended by landowners, deputy commissioner and others.

The deputy commissioner also revealed that the committee’s chairman has formed another body led by MNA Salah Mohammad Khan to address the land compensation issues of Mansehra-Naran-Jalkhad Road.
