Peshawar: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Minister for Forestry, Environment and Wildlife Syed Muhammad Ishtiaq Urmar has said that the construction and rehabilitation of 100km-long network of roads in Peshawar’s Chamkani, Tarnab, Urmar Payan, Daman-e-Hindki and Mian Gujjar area will begin soon, a news source reported on November 26.
Urmar shared this information while laying the foundation stone for dualisation of Dalazak Road to Grid Station. This particular project will be completed by June 2022 at a cost of PKR 500.19 million. The road project is deemed of utter importance because it links several towns and villages in the road’s vicinity with GT Road.

Speaking at the occasion, the minister said that the KP Government is keen on making Peshawar a developed and beautiful city and the ongoing and planned projects are a continuation of the plan formed in this regard. He further added that in addition to providing the deserving people with free health services, the provincial government is laying equal focus on infrastructural development as it plays a crucial role in speeding up the development process.
The minister directed the officials concerned to beautify and maintain the greenbelts on the roads side, remove encroachments, and make the streetlights functional.
