Islamabad: A committee of the apex court has proposed the regularisation of unauthorised construction in Zone IV, according to a news source. It was proposed in a meeting that unauthorised houses in Zone IV are to be regularised in accordance with the zoning regulations of the Capital Development Authority (CDA).
This regularisation will involve charging the house owners with a security fee, regularisation fee, and a development fee. These steps would be taken in accordance with CDA bylaws, and will tackle the construction of over 60,000 houses in the zone. CDA officials had proposed the separation of Margalla Hills from Zone III to give them a protected status and to implement Zone IV regulations in the rest of Zone III. These decisions are to be finalised once the city’s master plan has been reviewed.
