Judge Hafeez took the decision regarding developers advertising overpriced property listings. The judge ordered the concerned authorities to procure bank guarantees and security bonds from the developers. This is to ensure that they don’t avert any irregularities.

In the letter, Judge Abdul Hafeez mentioned that it should be ensured that the housing societies make all their transactions through the proper channels, i.e., banks.
Speaking on the order, RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi said that court orders will be fully implemented to protect public interests. He also mentioned that the developers will not be allowed to sell plots other than the ones shown on their respective maps. The societies failing to do so will be sealed.
Abbasi briefed the media that the forensic audit of private housing schemes that fall under RDA’s jurisdiction has already been started. This audit is close to its completion. Any irregularities will be referred to the concerned bureaus for further investigation, he added.
