Peshawar: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has constituted a jirga to resolve the issues faced by the residents of Regi Model Town – Zone I — with the officials concerned asked to submit a detailed report on the progress of developmental work being carried out in the locale, according to news sources.

A meeting was held in this regard under the chairmanship of the Special Assistant to Chief Minister KP on Local Government Kamran Bangash. The meeting went over the details of issues hindering the development of Regi Model Town.
Director General Peshawar Development Authority Zahir Ali Shah briefed the meeting over the development work currently underway in the project. The meeting was appraised that the Regi Model Town has been divided into five zones, out of which Zone III and IV are fully developed and Zone II and V are being rapidly completed.

Special Assistant Kamran Bangash revealed through his social media profile that the newly-constituted jirga is expected to resolve the land disputes with the Kuki Khel tribe in Zone II. He opined that housing societies are the need of the hour, and that this project will play an important role in uplifting Peshawar. “Different problems were discussed and timely rebuttal steps were directed,” he added in his tweet.
