Karachi: Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) Administrator Murtaza Wahab laid the foundation stone for the reconstruction of Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan, at the total cost of PKR 1.3 billion, according to a news story published in the national dailies on May 29.

As per the details, the two-lane road will be constructed between Abdullah Girls College and Qalandaria Chowk in the North Nazimabad area. After the reconstruction work completes, the 11-meters wide road will have a total length of 4.3-kilometres. Under this project, service roads will be constructed along the main road along with a sewerage system. Street lights will also be installed on the road for the ease and safety of commuters.

Moreover, Administrator Wahab revealed that the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) has initiated work on the disposal of garbage in the Central District. Sharing details of ongoing development work in the city, the KMC administration disclosed that 28 parks have been renovated and opened to the public. He added that 17 roads were being constructed in the area. An underpass and a flyover will be constructed at Jauhar Chowrangi in East District to resolve the traffic problems.
