Karachi: In response to the complaints lodged by traders and industrialists of the Korangi Industrial Zone, the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) has started rebuilding the Jam Sadiq Overpass at a cost of Rs 155 million.
Since the bridge is used by massive number of commuters every day, the KMC plans to complete the project within a short time of two and a half months. While inaugurating the project, Karachi Administrator Mr Saqib Ahmed Soomro said the reconstruction of the overpass was started after seeking the required reports from engineers.
The Jam Sadiq Overpass is regularly used for transportation of goods, but due to its dilapidated condition it was witnessing frequent gridlocks.
