Lahore: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) has announced its decision to open the recently-discovered royal chambers – which had remained hidden for centuries (in addition to their carried artefacts and other remains) – located within the precincts of Shahi Qila (Lahore Fort) to the public, according to news sources.
Further, the authority has commenced with the restoration of Shahi Qila’s Hamam (bath house); which was constructed during the reign of the Mughal Emperor Akbar-e-Azam. Following the completion of the renovation work – currently being pursued by the Archaeology Department of the Punjab University as well as international experts – people will be able to see the ancient relics.
