The Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) Government with its pro-business mind-set has helped property prices touch vertical highs in the second half of the calendar year (CY) 2013, with prices getting stable in Q1 2014, as per recently published reports of Zameen.com in the The News and Gulf Times.
In Lahore, Defence Housing Authority (DHA) remained in the limelight after the formation of new government, as the property prices in DHA increased sharply in the second half of CY 2013. Bahria Town (BT) Lahore, on the other hand, showed notable rise in property prices after the general elections of 2013. Lahore Development Authority (LDA) Avenue I and Wapda Town also attracted investors’ attention during the past one year.
In Islamabad, Sector F-11 remained popular for showing upticks in property values. However, Bahria Town Islamabad and Sector E-11, on the other hand, could not compete with Sector F-11 in performance, as the property prices in Bahria Town and E-11 started to witness a drop from the beginning of CY 2014. During the last 12 months, homes prices in the Sectors F-11, G-11 and E-11 of Islamabad increased notably.
In Karachi, DHA showed bullish trends in terms of plots prices and remained popular among the investors during the past one year. Moreover, Gulshan-e-Iqbal and Gulshan-e-Jauher also registered impressive price hikes, backed largely by the scarcity of land.
