The D.G of excise department has ordered the excise department officers to carry out a survey and make assessment in 15 days of all the properties and housing societies that are graded as Grade C properties.
A property tax notice will be issued to all housing societies which were built in posh areas and yet were graded as category C. Sources state that 60,000 tax payers will be paying additional taxes from 1st June who have been shifted to category A.
A few days ago the excise department asked permission to shift the category of many housings like Wapda Town, Valencia Town, PCSIR Colony, CME Society,
Johar Town multiple blocks and Nespak Society into category A form category C. The DG excise said that the citizens will be informed before the notices
were sent, by giving advertisements.
The D.G also ordered to re-assess Bilawal House so that appropriate tax can be imposed on the property.
