Quetta: The business community has made demands from the government to end its illegal allotment of plots in the proposed Gwadar Industrial Zone – a news source reported.
The Quetta Chamber of Commerce and Industries (QCCI) lamented that the government was neglecting local industrialists. It urged the government to re-allot land to these individual stakeholders.
The QCCI leadership claimed that outsiders were benefitting from the allotment process. It said that the QCCI office-bearers had repeatedly asked the government to address the matter.

The chamber called for an inquiry into the alleged possession of land by the outsiders. It claimed that these individuals had no business background. It added that local investors were being side-lined from the investment opportunities on offer.
Meanwhile, President Arif Alvi has said that local representatives will be included in the committee constituted to devise Gwadar’s master plan. He was speaking to MNA Aslam Bhootani.
Alvi directed the ministers to seek suggestions from local MNAs and MPAs regarding developments in Gwadar.
