Rawalpindi: Federal Minister for Climate Change Malik Amin Aslam Khan on Monday – during his visit to Rialto Park – inaugurated the new Miyawaki Forest and Street Library developed by the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA), according to news sources.

During the ceremony, Minister Khan lauded Chairman RDA Tariq Mehmood Murtaza and Commissioner Rawalpindi Division / Director General RDA Gulzar Hussain Shah for their efforts. It was highlighted that 8,500 saplings of 52 different varieties have been planted in the Miyawaki forest of Rialto Park – which is commendable.

The climate change minister iterated that the project was in line with Prime Minister Imran Khan’s vision of plating one trillion trees in Pakistan during 2022. He also planted a ‘green ficus’ in the forest to commemorate the event.
