Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has called its 44th meeting on July 30, according to a news source. Chairman RDA Arif Ali Abbasi will preside over the meeting which is expected to review the civic body’s 29-point agenda.
A pre-meeting assembly was held at the office of RDA Director General (DG) Nadeem Ahmad Abro. RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi, the heads of various departments, and other senior officials were all present at the occasion.
According to the agenda, the initiation process to award the consultancy contract for redrafting the 20-year master plan of Rawalpindi as per the approved terms of reference (ToR) will be approved.

The participants are also scheduled to review the budget proposals of the Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) for the (fiscal year) 2019-20. Moreover, the agency’s suggestions regarding proposed increase in its water and sewerage tariff, as well as aquifer charges, will be scrutinised.

A system to increase the employees’ existing working capacity and appointment against open vacancies (including Chief Planner) will be discussed.
The meeting is also expected to grant approval to the construction of a multi-storey commercial building in Sherpao Colony, provision of commercialisation status to the new road, increase in building plan scrutiny fees, issuance of a No-Objection Certificate (NoC) to get a loan by mortgaging RDA properties in the private housing schemes.
