Islamabad: The planning wing of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) has urged the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to observe a 1,200-foot-wide Right of Way (ROW) along Kashmir Highway, according to a news source.

The CDA has recommended that this ROW should be observed while granting planning permissions for projects being developed along the Kashmir Highway. These recommendations were made in a letter addressed to the RDA director general.

The control of Kashmir Highway is divided between these two authorities; with CDA’s jurisdiction spanning from Club Road/Murree Road to GT Road, and RDA’s jurisdiction starting from there onwards.
The implementation of this recommendation will unify the ROW policies of both bodies for Kashmir Highway, and make the widening of link roads easier in the future. A similar intimation was recently sent to the National Highways Authority (NHA), with CDA requesting the NHA to acquire land of 600 feet on both sides of the link road for the construction of service roads.
