Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with a Turkish nonprofit firm called IHH-NL Helpline to facilitate the development of the authority’s kitchen garden initiative, according to news sources.
The signing ceremony was held at RDA office and was attended by RDA Chairman Tariq Mehmood Murtaza, Helpline President IHH-NL Salimi Yokosel, General Secretary Helpline Akhlaq ur Rahman and other officials.

In its initial phase, the project will be launched in 50 houses that will be given needed tools for growing vegetables. The development authority will supervise the project, while the Punjab Agricultural Department will offer seeds and technical support.

The Chairman RDA welcomed the Turk delegates and thanked the Rawalpindi citizen for their participation in the project. The Turkish firm’s president also appreciated the sentiment and spoke about the brotherly relations between the two counties. He revealed that their company’s helpline operates in 25 countries and offer guidance regarding education, health, water supply and farming.
