Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) is expected to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) for cooperation in the development sector, a news source reported. The decision was made during a recent meeting between the RDA management and TIKA Country Head Gokhan Umut.

The MoU is expected to be signed next month and would allow both parties to share their expertise for executing various development and welfare projects. Umut stated that the main element of TIKA’s assistance to the RDA would consist of capacity building and training of human resources. This will help the authority in the long-term.

TIKA will work with RDA on some projects of short-term, mid-term and long-term. The corporation showed interest in working on some immediate projects such as filtration plants, kitchen gardening, water harvesting, and clean drinking water. The company is working on similar projects in Islamabad as well.
