The MPTED has been instructed to take actions against all such housing schemes found to be non-compliant under the Punjab Private Housing Scheme and Land Sub Division Rules 2010. The directorate will issue notices to their developers to halt all of their marketing efforts. In addition, the said authority will pursue legal action against them under the Punjab Development of States Act 1976.
The RDA chairman also asked all agency directors to only approve the maps of these societies in accordance with the authority’s set criteria – and to accept no pressure for doing so otherwise. The directors have also received instructions to seal the site offices of these schemes, and to commence with the demolition work of their society structures.
