Rawalpindi: Chairman Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Tariq Murtaza has stated that the development of a new district master plan (Rawalpindi) will help in the formulation of a strategy to regularize the city’s growth and public amenities for the coming 25-year period, according to news sources. As per the publication, he also revealed the civic agency’s plan to launch a housing society for government employees working on the basic pay scale (BPS) grades 1-15.

The chairman said that in regards to the Rawalpindi’s new masterplan, all the institution concerned had been brought on board. He opined that this master plan would lay down the roadmap to address Rawalpindi’s needs for water supply, sewerage, health, education, tourism, and traffic for the next 25 years.

Chairman Murtaza further revealed that Chief Minister (Punjab) Sardar Usman Buzdar had already approved these development projects and had pledged to release the necessary funds. In addition, the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) had also shown their willingness to collaborate on these projects.
Moreover, Chairman Tariq also took the opportunity to announce that the long-delayed ‘RDA Complex’ project was being revived, and that it would be constructed on a 14-kanal piece of land that was currently lying vacant next to the Sports Complex in the Liaquat Bagh vicinity.
