Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to invite expressions of interest from qualified firms for the construction of two parking floors in the Fawara Chowk Parking Plaza, a news source reported. As per the publication, the PKR 10.33 million contract will be awarded for a duration of two years, on a time-sharing basis.

According to the information available, the cost of the project’s contract is expected to be increased by 10% for the second year of its duration.
The Fawara Chowk Parking plaza currently comprises of a basement and ground plus one storey. At the moment, the facility’s basement serves as a shelter home, while the remaining two floors are used for parking purposes. The addition of two more storeys is meant to increase the parking capacity of the building.

Additionally, the RDA has also finalised the parking fees for the parking plaza. Reportedly, the new per hour rates set for motorcycles, cars/rickshaws/taxis and large vehicles will be PKR 10, PKR 30, and PKR 35 in that order.
