Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has formed a committee to evaluate the 17 bids submitted by the companies that had expressed their interest in developing the ‘Rawalpindi Master Plan 2020-2045’, a news source reported. As per details, the said blueprint is expected to be developed at a cost of PKR 100 million – within a time frame of one year.
The committee will decide which of these 17 companies will qualify to take part in the next bidding process via the issuance of request of proposal letter. The successful firms will then be asked to share their technical and financial bids on the project.
The chosen firm will be assigned the task to make a 25-year master plan based on the city’s needs in terms of utility services, infrastructural developments, and related facilities in reference to the expected population rise by 2045. Based on this master plan, all related departments will be required to form plans in accordance with the parameters defined in the document.
In another development, the RDA has invited expression of interest (EOI) for identifying illegal constructions in its administered areas. As per reports, the RDA has decided to outsource the task after its field staff failed to identify all such structures due to lack of resources.
Further, the authority’s building officers are expected to take action against all the illegal constructions, structures and building specified by the hired firm.
