Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has taken decisive action, directing marketing companies to cease promoting these unlawful projects in a bid to curb the proliferation of illegal housing schemes, as reported by a news source on November 22.

According to an RDA spokesperson (whose name was not disclosed), the authority has served notices to numerous marketing firms, compelling them to halt advertisements related to illegal housing schemes. The RDA Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering Directorate has also entered the fray, issuing notices to the proprietors of YouTube channels and marketing companies. These notices explicitly instruct them to discontinue the promotion of illegal housing schemes on YouTube channels and various other social media platforms.

The spokesperson emphasized that the increasing trend of illegal housing projects exploiting YouTube channels and other platforms for publicity poses a serious concern.
