The Punjab government has already earmarked PKR 110 million in the budget for fiscal year 2019-20, for the construction of these walkways. These bridges will be installed near Gulzar-e-Quaid, Shah Khalid Colony, and Noor Khan Airbase along the Airport Road.
The 7.8 kilometre road does not have a proper crossing, which has been a cause of accidents for locals trying to get across by jumping the dividing fence. So the construction of these walkways has been a long-standing demand of the locals of the area.
