Rawalpindi: Director General Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Abdul Sattar Isani has directed all illegal housing schemes and unauthorised constructions to be eliminated, according to news sources.

On the orders, strict action has been taken against 10 illegal plazas, 22 illegal shops, and 8 houses in different areas of the city. As per the directions, the Land Use and Building Control (LU&BC) Wing’s staff including Demolition Squad and building inspectors issued 40 notices and 10 challans to the owners of illegally constructed buildings.

Earlier this week, the LU&BC Wing collected PKR 25.7 million in fees/charges in lieu of commercialization fee, from various residential and commercial buildings. The owners have been found in violation of approved plans/maps of the Punjab Development of States Act 1976 and RDA Building and Zoning Regulations 2020, and carried out construction without formal approval or NOC.
