RDA Chairman Tariq Murtaza stated that the authority would use the acquired land along RRR for building the following:
- Satellite town
- A housing project as part of the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme (NPHP)
- A modern medical city
- Vegetable & fruit markets
- Economic zone
Chairman Murtaza explained that the decision to develop the NPHP project along the RRR route had been made due to the unavailability of suitable land within the city. He added that this housing scheme would include basic facilities such as schools, markets, parks, etc. for the residents.
The RDA chairman highlighted that the RRR project would resolve traffic congestion issues in the city, encourage economic activities, and reduce noise and environmental pollution faced by people residing along the GT Road.
