Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has decided to resume a stalled underpass project to make Murree Road signal free, according to news published on April 26.

An RDA senior official mentioned that the authority spent over PKR 11 million in 2017 on the feasibility study to determine whether to build an underpass or a flyover at Liaquat Bagh Square. The project was shelved in 2018.

The RDA has once again forwarded the project to the Punjab government for its inclusion in the Annual Development Programme (ADP)’s budget for the coming fiscal year. According to the new plan, the RDA will construct an underpass on the road from Saddar to Faizabad and a provide a road link for Liaquat Road towards Fawara Chowk.
