Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) conducted an operation against illegal housing societies on Thursday – a news source reported.

The operation was conducted by the Metropolitan and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate RDA. The teams sealed the offices of five housing schemes and issued notices to them under the Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Sub-division Rules 2010.
The Deputy Director Planning, Superintendent Schemes, and Scheme Inspectors headed the operation with the assistance of the local police.

Speaking on the matter, RDA Spokesperson Hafiz Muhammad Usman said that the Director General (DG) RDA has issued directions to the MP&TE to continue with the operation against those violating any of the laws. He said that they should disregard any kind of pressure to not do their job, for this purpose.
RDA also issued an advisor for the citizens to stop making investments in illegal housing schemes.
