Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director-General (DG) Ammara Khan recently directed the authority’s officials to resume one window operation at their offices with essential staff — with this move coming in light of the government’s decision to ease the countrywide lockdown, a news source reported.

As per the publication, the RDA employees were tasked with facilitating the citizens by opening the civic centre and to observe all standard operating procedures (SOPs) to fight the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. An RDA spokesperson further revealed DG Khan’s decision to provide relief to clients and consumers, and to only allow essential staff to operate at this time. He said that that the reason behind opening up the one window counter was to save the city’s residents from the trouble of visiting multiple offices for various tasks.

Previously, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Usman Buzdar had said that the provincial government had welcomed the decision of the federal government to ease the lockdown, and facilitate businesses associated with the construction sector. Reportedly, the Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA) and the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) have already opened up their one-window operations to facilitate their clients.
