Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has filed 17 First Information Reports (FIRs) against the owners of 17 under-development construction structures because they failed to comply with the Stand Operating Procedure (SOP) for dengue prevention (as issued by the provincial government), according to the news sources.
The source reported that RDA teams conducted raids to identify these buildings, upon the directives of the department chairman. The teams raided many residential, commercial and under-construction property sites, and filed the FIRs in the respective police stations against the offenders.

The Director of the RDA’s Land Development and Estate Management (LD&EM) department spoke to the media, and revealed that owners and contractors of these under-development projects have been notified. They have been asked to eliminate the stagnant water, and to ensure that all water reserves are properly covered.

He said that residential and commercial structures that violate the anti-dengue measures were being sealed, and action was being taken against them. He stressed for citizens to take responsibility in the matter, and come forward to report the violators, while the authorities execute regular inspections on the vulnerable sites.
