Rawalpindi: Rawalpindi Commissioner Liaqat Ali Chatha has asked the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to complete the city’s master plan at the earliest, news sources reported on January 31.

Recently, the commissioner visited the headquarters of the RDA and met with several notable officials. He said that the Rawalpindi Master Plan 2050 is of utmost importance for the sustainable development of the city’s infrastructure. He said that the commissioner’s office will help the RDA in every possible way to ensure the timely completion of the project.
During his visit, RDA Director General Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa also briefed the commissioner on the ongoing development projects in the city. He said that at present the authority is working on several infrastructure projects including the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR), Nullah Lai Expressway, Kachehri Chowk Rawalpindi, RDA Parking Plaza, Fawara Chowk Rawalpindi and others. He said that all these projects have been designed to ensure smooth traffic flow in the city and reduce congestion.

It is also important to mention that the RDA has been preparing a zone development plan for the next 25 years and has hired a consultant to demarcate land for the various sections. Under the plan, Rawalpindi city will be divided into separate residential, industrial and green zones for better land management.
