Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has proposed some changes to the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) project, a news source reported.

RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi said that the civic agency has suggested setting up economic zones along the proposed RRR project in a bid to promote business and industrial activities.
He said that six firms recently submitted their expressions of interest for the project’s feasibility study. He added that the Punjab government has allocated a sum of PKR 10 million for RRR’s feasibility study.
Abbasi stressed the need to relocate main markets into the economic zones proposed for the ring road project. The provincial government will reportedly decide on the matter within a month.

Moreover, work on the project is expected to commence in 2020 and the process to hire consultant for RRR would be completed within a month’s timeframe.
