Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has launched a grand operation against illegal housing schemes located in its jurisdiction, news sources reported on November 21.

The operation was launched on the directions of the RDA Director General, Muhammad Saif Anwar Jappa, who also oversaw the progress of the operation. During the operation, RDA demolished the booking offices, development structures, and roads of three illegal housing schemes. According to a statement released by the RDA, the authority has initiated operations against housing plans for violating the Punjab Private Housing Scheme Rules 2021. According to the spokesperson, the operation would continue against any such housing developments that do not have a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the RDA.

He also stated that the RDA has asked the FIA’s Cyber Crime Wing to take legal action against unlawful and deceptive ads for illegal housing plans. Furthermore, he recommended residents go to the RDA’s official website to view an up-to-date list of all unlawful housing plans before investing.
