Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has offered 5,000 kanals of land to the Chinese Civil Engineering Construction Corporation (CCECC) as payment for developing the Leh Expressway, according to a news source published on September 16.

The Chinese construction firm has been made the offer to complete the Leh Expressway project on either build-operate-transfer (BOT) or public-private partnership (PPP) arrangement. If the firm accepts, the said land can be used for the establishment of residential or commercial structures.
Reportedly, the CCECC has asked the development authority to identify the offered land before making a final decision with regards to the acceptance of the offer.

As per the sources, the RDA will identify the said land and a 10-member team of CCECC would then visit it to finalise their decision. Moreover, the firm has also expressed an interest to take up the project of constructing the circular railway and cementing the Leh Nullah channel in the twin cities.
