Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has issued notices to 12 unapproved housing societies and has directed their developers to submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) soon, according to news published in the leading newspaper on July 22.

As per the details, the notices were issued under the provision of the act and Punjab Private Housing Schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010. The Rawalpindi Commissioner Noor-ul-Amin Mengal has also raised concerns over the increasing number of illegal societies operating within the jurisdiction of RDA. It was disclosed that the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate is taking action against the marketing/advertisement activities carried for illegal housing schemes.
The MP&TE director has directed the developers of these 12 housing societies to submit deed of surrender, mortgage deed, and NOC acquired from the Environment Protection Department and other relevant departments. He asked the management of housing societies to submit the documents soon or the approval of their respective layout plans will be cancelled.

He went on to say that the owners of such housing schemes are misleading the general public with false advertisements. He further asked people to be diligent when investing in real estate. People must check the approval status of every project before booking and purchasing from MP&TE Directorate RDA or by visiting www.rda.gov.k, he advised
