Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA)’s incumbent management has issued its three-year performance report, which includes key milestones completed between 2018 and 2021, according to an advert published in a major daily.

The report emphasised the authority’s significant efforts to improve the city’s infrastructure. Some of the project highlighted projects include the establishment of a one-window operation centre to better facilitate the people. Since its inception, the one-window cell has approved floor plans of 972 residential buildings and 132 commercial projects. Another significant milestone is the development of 50 multi-storey highrises in the city under the RDA building and Zoning Regulation 2020. The construction work on these highrises – which include 5,000 apartments for low-income citizens – is presently underway.

The authority also recapped the projects that have been completed during the last three years, a list of which is as follows:
- Construction of Qadeer Khan Road
- Tepu-Road to Airport Link Road construction
- Construction of 3 pedestrian bridges
- Restructuring of Ammar Chowk
- Redesigning of Kacheri Chowk (ongoing)
- Construction of Defense Chowk (ongoing)
In addition, the advertising mentioned RDA’s efforts to promote business and develop business-friendly regulations. This includes lowering the regularisation cost for commercial buildings from 20% to 10%, commercial declaration of 21 roads and fast track 45-day commercial land usage policy. In addition, it was highlighted that the policies produced PKR 55 billion from commercial operations in the city.
