Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) launched a crackdown against illegal and unapproved commercial and residential buildings in the city, according to a news source.

In this operation, the RDA Building Control staff sealed a house on non-conforming property use and an unapproved commercial building.
The operation was launched under the Punjab Development of Citizens Act 1976. The RDA Building Control staff had found out that these buildings were being constructed without acquiring an NOC from the development authority.

Speaking at the occasion, RDA director general requested people to not invest in such projects. He also indicated that legal action will be taken against such developments. In this regard, the RDA Building Control Wing has been directed to continue its operations against illegal and unapproved construction activities.
