Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) will start working on the PKR 5 billion Kutcherry Chowk remodelling project soon, news sources reported on May 23. The Project Concept-1 (PC-1) and the feasibility report of the project have already been approved.

In a media briefing regarding the project, RDA spokesperson Hafiz Irfan stated that the authorities will work on the relocation of telephone lines, gas pipelines, and other municipal utilities in the first phase of the project. After the first phase is completed, the development of the signal-free corridor will begin. Furthermore, he stated that the project will entail the building of a flyover and three underpasses to accommodate a larger volume of traffic.

It is worth noting here that the Kutcherry Chowk project is one of the three mega projects launched by RDA for the traffic management of the city. The other two projects include the construction of Ammar Chowk and the Defence Road project.
