To increase its income, WASA has also decided to increase the rates of commercial water billing, water hydrants, and to issue separate unit water bills instead of combined bills for entire plazas.
The water supply agency will only increase its rates of on commercial water units. It will issue individual water bills to each commercial outlet now. Following their implementation, these initiatives are expected to increase WASA’s revenue by tenfold, along with expanding the water tax net.
RDA Chairman Arif Abbasi said that the decisions would be approved in a special meeting scheduled for next week. He added that these measures would minimise the losses faced by the RDA and the WASA without affecting the people.
