Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has been tasked with identifying land for the establishment of sewage plant under the Leh Expressway project, a news source reported. The installation of the sewage plant will enable the recycling of the polluted water of Nullah Leh.

To this effect, Rawalpindi Commissioner Muhammad Mehmood chaired a meeting of city managers and directed RDA to submit a report on the land for the project. He also directed the civic authority to identify additional chunks of land.

RDA Director-General (DG) Ammara Khan, Director Development Nazia Sadhan, and other officials were also present at the meeting. The commissioner also sought a report on how much land for the Expressway project was owned by the government and how much by private owners.

Leh Expressway is designed to move along Rawalpindi’s Nullah Leh. The project upon its completion will reduce traffic congestion in the city and enable citizens to have swift access to Rawalpindi’s highways and motorways.
