Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has uncovered 149 illegal housing schemes operating within the district, revealing that 52 are entirely fake, 73 are non-existent, and 24 are illegal. In response to this discovery, the authority has granted investors involved in these fraudulent schemes a 30-day window to submit complaints or objections.

The RDA’s investigation found that these schemes misled investors by offering false promises of high returns on real estate ventures. As part of its efforts to rectify the situation, the RDA has urged affected investors to come forward and file their complaints within the given time frame. After 30 days, the authority will cancel the files of these projects and remove them from its official records.
In addition to the 30-day window, RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza announced that the approval of new housing schemes in Rawalpindi would be temporarily halted until the issue is resolved.
