Reportedly, in a tweet from the official Twitter account, the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) shared the numbers and praised non-resident Pakistanis (NRPs) for their trust. The central bank said
‘Today marks yet another historic day in #RoshanDigitalAccount, with $57mn in deposit inflows, the highest ever daily figure’. With this significant increase, total deposits in RDA have crossed USD 4.5 billion. We are humbled by the continuous trust and commitment of our #OverseasPakistanis.
The influx is higher than what was recorded in May, when it was roughly USD 189 million. According to reports, the current surge in inflows is seasonal, owing mostly to the approaching Eid-ul-Azha in the first week of July. It is worth noting that the inflow occurred against the backdrop of a liquidity downturn and depleting foreign exchange reserves.

The influx would help to stabilise the dollar-to-rupee exchange rate until the government strikes a deal with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
