Rawalpindi: For reserving funds during the fiscal year 208-19, the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has forwarded a proposal for seven development schemes, including the Rawalpindi Ring Road project, to the Government of Punjab, reported a news source.
According to details, the request has been placed for reserving development funds worth PKR 2712 million for Mareer Chowk signal free project and Liaqat Bagh Chowk project, PKR 1025 for rehabilitation and expansion of Dhok Haso Road, PKR 560 million for rehabilitation and expansion of Dhok Mangtal Road, PKR 231 million for construction of third and fourth floor of Fawara Chowk Parking Plaza, PKR 46 million for rehabilitation of streets and lanes in Hamza Camp, PKR 56 million for construction of pedestrian bridges on Airport Road and in Shah Khalid Colony.
While funds worth PKR 47 billion for the Rawalpindi Ring Road project are to be received from the Bank of China as a soft loan. Reportedly, the Chinese bank has agreed to provide the load. The reports also reveals that feasibility study for the project has been completed at a cost of PKR 26 million.
