Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has finalised its annual budget of PKR 7.4 billion for the fiscal year 2019-20, under which it has allocated PKR 7.1 billion for development projects, reported a news source.
In the meanwhile, the Water and Sanitation Authority (WASA) has also shared its annual budget of PKR 3.1 billion with a deficit of PKR 1.6 billion.

The finance subcommittee vetted the budgets of the two authorities during a special budget meeting held at the RDA office on Wednesday. RDA Director General Nadeem Ahmed Abro headed the meeting. Important RDA officials were also present.
After the finance subcommittee completes its vetting process, the budget will be moved before the RDA’s governing body for final approval.

The meeting members shared details regarding the RDA budget’s breakdown. As per the details shared by the news sources, the RDA has allocated PKR 30 million for the rehabilitation of Airport Road from Ammar Chowk to Koral Chowk. Fund allocation details on other major projects include:
- PKR 49 million for the dualisation of the link road from Airport Road to Tipu Road
- PKR 80 million for the preparation of the feasibility study of Rawalpindi Ring Road project
- PKR 71 million for the dualisation of Qadeer Khan Road from Islamabad Highway to Falcon Complex
- PKR 30 million for the widening and construction of Dry Port Road from Rawalpindi Flyover to Welfare Complex
The RDA will utilise the remaining PKR 301 million for the payment of pensions, office expenses and for the payment of utility bills.
