Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) has asked the Islamabad Electric Supply Company, the Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL), and the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) not to provide utility connections to any illegal housing scheme in the city, a news source reported on March 9.

The civic agency made the request in the wake of an operation against two illegal residential projects in the city. The said crackdown was conducted by the Metropolitan Planning and Traffic Engineering (MP&TE) Directorate of the RDA.
According to the details revealed, the civic agency had previously issued notices to the managements of these residential projects over violations of the Punjab Private Housing schemes and Land Subdivision Rules 2010.

It is pertinent to mention that RDA Director General (DG) Captain (retired) Abdul Sattar Issani has advised the general public against investing in unauthorized housing projects. Moreover, both genuine buyers and investors can verify the authenticity of real estate projects from the MP&TE Directorate.
