Rawalpindi: The Commissioner Rawalpindi Captain (retd) Muhammad Mahmood has directed Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) to prepare a feasibility report for proposed special economic zone on Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) – a news source reported on December 15.

Speaking further on the matter, he stated that RRR is not just a road but a multi-dimensional project which will not only help resolve the traffic issues in Islamabad and Rawalpindi but also contribute to its economic development through the installation of industries and generation of additional jobs.
According to a related report, the Environment Protection Department has issued a no-objection certificate (NOC) for the construction of RRR, removing the final hurdle in the launch of the construction on the project.

The work order for the initiation of the construction will be issued in January and Frontier Works Organisation (FWO) will develop it on Public-Private Partnership basis.
