Rawalpindi: The Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) recently conducted an extensive operation against illegal housing societies in the city and proceeded to demolish their site offices, a news source reported. As per the publication, in addition to the offices, 15 other buildings were also demolished during the crackdown.
Reportedly, the housing societies had opened their offices in violation of Punjab Private Housing Schemes & Land Sub-Division Rules 2010. The operation was conducted with the assistance of the local police station and RDA staff also dismantled the transformers in these illegal societies.

RDA Director MP&TE warned the public to not invest in housing societies not approved by the agency, as they could otherwise face severe financial losses as a result.
Commenting on the operation, the RDA Representative Hafiz Irfan said that RDA Director General Ammara Khan has directed the authority’s staff and officials to take action against all illegal housing societies — without any fear or discrimination.
